Very pretty birds

Hi everyone! I've been following BYC for months as my go-to look up for questions we have since getting our first chickens in August! We live in Abita Springs, Louisiana (about an hour outside of New Orleans).

We are new to chickens and got two chicks in August. Beignet is a Buff Orpington and Paprika we thought was an Ameraucana, but I think we were mistaken. Looking for a little help with that :) Pictures below! They live in a coop within our fenced in yard, and spend the weekends and any other day we're home roaming the yard. We weren't expecting them to start laying until closer to February, but found an egg on New Years Eve! We first assumed it was from Beignet, because it was brown, but now that I don't think we have the right breed we're thinking it was Paprika - she seems a little closer to looking ready to start laying. We've also found two shell-less eggs around the yard since then, and saw her hanging out in the nesting box this morning, so hoping she'll regular out soon and start producing more!

Aside from the chicks, we've got a puggle named Remmy. We were a little worried about introducing them, but she's been great at keeping a watchful eye out for them in the yard!

Looking forward to hearing any advice on the breed of Paprika or what to expect of her laying habits! They were still on grower feed (Scratch 'n Peck brand) but with the appearance of an egg we've started mixing in layer feed as well (until the grower feed is gone).
Welcome to BYC! :welcome
I have a BO as well!
