Hi, I am a new member here located in River Ridge, La. I had my first batch of hens about 6 years ago. They have since died and I have new one about 3 years old. 2 Barred Rocks and 1 Production Red. I have 2 more that my neighbor gave me. I think one is a Production Red. Don't know what the second one is but she lays blue eggs. I will be posting pictures later. My girls own about 1/3 of my back yard and have completely removed all the grass. Along with that, I learned the hard way that they love tomatoes and ate all the tomatoes off my tomato plants. I took care of that for this year by putting a fence around my vegetable garden. But now I have to weed it regularly. I look forward to learning a lot on this site.
