I have 12 hens and One rooster . The rooster was unexpected he came with four speckled Sussex pullets that I bought from tractor supply I did not want a rooster! I inherited nine other hens from a neighbor who no longer wanted them his wife passed away and it was too much work for him to do alone. before I got all my chickens I had five Pekin ducks ..
they are beautiful birds and each give me one a good day .

Welcome, a lot of good people and good advice. At least with the rooster you can hatch out some peepers if you decide to.
