(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My grandparents had chickens, so I grew up around chickens. I have not raised chickens myself until now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 8 Buckeyes and 2 White Crested Black Polish. I also have 9 Jumbo Coturnix Quail. I want more of everything!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buckeyes and White Crested Black Polish.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love watching them! My Buckeyes are very friendly and get a lot of attention from my entire family. They come running for attention!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, Quail, Computer games, Crafts
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married and have 3 children (two at home, one is grown). I have two rat terriers and one Shih Tzu. I am a Special Education teacher.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I am obsessed with chickens! I found BYC through a Google search to find information about Buckeyes.
