Welcome to BYC Trish. Dobie Lover gave you the straight truth on Cornish x. They literally eat themselves too death. They grow so fast and heavy that their legs give out and their vital organs can't keep up with their increasing size.

Cornish crosses do not live long. They are intended to be processed at 8 or 9 weeks old. They grow freakishly fast and that is why your layers are so much smaller. They grow at a normal rate.
I love how big the cornishcross got . They were definitely very friendly breed 😍 I enjoyed them while it lasted. Im hopeing the jersey giant gets just as big and is just as friendly. I also hope they live longer. :)
