Howdy,
I am a new member living in the Great State of Texas originally from Alabama ( another Great State: Roll Tide). I am near retirement and am starting my new career of sorts. Getting back to basics and my childhood where I had goats, chickens, ducks and a horse. Thanks for letting me join
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I have helped raise chickens before but it was as a teenager.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None
(3) What breeds do you have? Looking for ideas of what type to get.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Raising goats; helping my SIL with her cows; reading and much more.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am happily married to a trucker; own a boxer who makes us laugh by her antics and have 5 wonderful grandsons.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was looking for more goats. Looking for ones that people don't want anymore. Goats can be awesome but also a handful if you are not familiar with their behavior.
