Hiya, Linda, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry about your hens not hatching any...has to be frustrating but they don't give up so sooner or later you'll have little chicks running around again!
I’m definitely learning about my girls, I have never seen such drive to be a mama. It’s unimaginable all that these precious babies will go through and endure to be a mama.

I think you’re right, I also struggle with having too many too. I don’t know about everyone else regarding this next statement and I know there is a pecking order, however it does break my heart and makes me mad at the same time to see the treatment each one can endure when the pecking order is being established. Just part of it I guess. I’m contemplating on moving one of my girls because she is so shy and timid and will not take up for herself. I will figure it out. Additionally, she’s one of the ones that has been on the nest for what seems like all summer trying to hatch out little ones

They all need a break for a week or two between sitting on eggs/being broody though. It's not healthy to be permanently affixed to a nest for months. I have one like that.

I stick my broodies in a metal wire dog pen sitting on bricks so air flows underneath. I tie an icecream bucket of water in one corner, a feeder in the other, and lay a short 2x4 in there so she's not standing on metal. That's all she/they get. It takes about 3-4 days.
