Hello all!
I currently do not own any chickens but instead two weeks ago I’ve adopted two female quails (are going to raise and buy some more in the future) I’m definitely new to owning them but I’ve been trying my best to make sure they’re healthy and happy. So far they don’t really trust me but are okay with my presence but they make me feel happy and secure. Outside of these two lovely ladies I enjoy drawing and creating content and love rollerskating, I do know some Japanese as I’ve been learning it for awhile just not super great haha. Thank you all for having me here.

Ooh, quail are fun little birds to keep! Coturnix? They can be super sweet and friendly. Are you keeping them as house pets or outside in a coop? Quail don't like to be handled much but do enjoy your presence. They are definitely capable of learning their names and come when called!

Super quick response because it's late at night for me but I'm guessing it must be early for you over there? Yep I'm raising coturnix. I've chosen to have them as house pets. I never knew that they don't like being handled, I just thought it was because they are new so the only time I've touched them was when I had to clean their enclosure.

I'm assuming you own chickens? If so how many and how long have you been raising them?

If you start handling quail as chicks they tolerate being held a lot more. Don't over stress your birds but occasionally its good to pick them up in case for medical reasons you need to, they should learn you mean no harm. I've kept both chickens and quail, mainly Bobwhites, a couple Coturnix and Gambels, I kept quail for almost 11 years. I enjoyed it greatly! And yes, its morning here. Have a good evening!
