Good noon everyone!

I am new to raising chickens unlike my husband who has raised them in the past when he was younger. I have 8 cinnamon queens right now.
Any advice for a newbie?

Number one- I advise you to join BYC. Oh I see you did!! Great job!! lol . Do not buy a prefab coop they always say they’ll hold more chickens than they do so build your own or use a small shed and convert it. Also hardware cloth is your best friend.

Totally agree on everything!! An example of this is the teeny tiny coop I saw at tractor supply that says it holds 8 chickens but I would literally only use it as a quarantine/recovery coop for one single chicken I wish TSC would promote more humane chicken treatment TBH. But that's just my opinion Hardware cloth is the best. I've used it on both of my coops and never had any predator/pest issues. Super heavy-duty, too.
