Welcome to the Forum, plenty knowledge in here from other enthusiasts like us! I own few of the RR's , and others, don't underestimate the benefits of having a few Heritage Breeds in your flock!, my best egg layers are the Australorps, Leghorns and Easter Eggers...the others trail behind closely. Welcome, Welcome!!Hello! New member from Delaware. I have successfully completed one year of being new to raising chickens. It was definitely a learning experience with 1 case of impacted crop that turned into sour crop and an aggressive rooster. Currently have 2 Rhode Islands reds, 2 Buff Orpingtons and what we believe to be a Sapphire Blue(?) and a Bantam. Chicken mat got us and we have 5 more chicks coming in April0 3 Golden comets and 2 more reds. We really enjoy these chickens- not just for eggs but just being out in the run with them.
