I am New to Chickens this year and have a so many questions I've had to look up about their care. There are 19 hens, in the city, different breeds, just for eggs, have a coop, they free range, we survived the cold but with a little frost bite. My challenge now is finding ways to entertain them. They seem to enjoy music so i need to rig something up for outdoors and would love suggestions along with suggestions for maintaining a garden with chickens around. Im In Kansas.

Here's a post by a beloved, now-deceased member of ours about "clutter" in her run. Clutter is usually used to help younger chicks to be able to live with older ones in that they have places to duck and hide, but as you'll see, a lot of things are entertainment for chickens too.

Welcome to BYC. I provide roosts in my open run, and maintain two trees and some gooseberry bushes in the run that they can navigate around. I'll be transplanting some highbush cranberry if Spring ever gets here to provide cover and fun. I have an inexpensive mirror in the run they like to look into, and I believe they know they are looking at themselves. I also have some old logs, some on their side and some upright, that they can climb on and peck at to find insects. The more different things I have for them to do, the happier they seem to be.
 
Welcome to BYC! Find a comfy seat and stay awhile, there's plenty of information here.
I have used an old mirror to look at, a cow bell to peck at, an old swing to sit on. Basically, think of your young self and how you enjoyed the outdoors.
