I am a retired registered nurse. I live in East Texas (mild winters and extremely hot summers). I am new to chickens since February. At present, I have 12 Golden Buffs (Red Star), 1 Black Star, 1 Buff Orpington, and 1 white Leghorn. I also have 3 rescue bantam chicks in a brooder (abandoned in a dentist's parking lot). I LOVE my chickens.
