Welcome to BYC, Cassandra! Glad you decided to join our flock. You have some good, hardy, dependable breeds. I have some Orpingtons in my own flock; they are such beautiful, calm, and gentle birds. I am excited about my Orpingtons, however they were 5 months when I got them from some one else and were not handled . So they are very squirrelly and skiddish and won't let me handle them at all! I'm hoping that changes! What age did your Orpingtons start laying eggs?

It varies from hen to hen, but generally somewhere from 20-24 weeks.
