Would a raccoon do the damage to the others? Eat half of them and strip the feathers and such? I'm just so shocked because we live in the city.

Raccoons can do that to chickens. A lot of people would be surprised to learn that they have raccoons in their cities (even very large ones like New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, and Chicago), and that they raid garbage cans at night, and Kansas City definitely has them. Kansas City has a Critter Control division and raccoons are one of their most common calls for removal.

hello and welcome,so sorry for your loss,you can also set catch cages at night to trap the predater's,we have been catching ferel cat's and one possum,which we moved to the other side of the river,good luck and glad you joined
