Greetings, I have been lurking for a time before introducing myself. I am a single, retired grandmother with a not so empty nest. (only my kids have flown the coop) I have had chickens and turkeys on and off for about 30 yrs. I currently have 7 hens and a rooster - - a couple of unidentified purebreds, a RIR and the rest muts. I also have horses and honey bees as well as the usual dogs and cat. I have enjoyed browsing the info on this site - - some stuff I knew already but always something that I didn't know too. Thank you

Glad you could join the flock! Sounds like you are keeping busy even though your children have flown the nest! I'm sure if you post some pics of your unknown breeds in this section of the forum, here is the link https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this other members will be able to help you identify them.

WELCOME TO BYC!!!!! Here's a big sunny "Hello" from the central coast of California! Sounds like you stay busy! I am very interested in keeping bees someday, but I have too many other projects and mouths to feed currently haha. Your comment about lurking really cracked me up, I myself lurked for awhile before introducing myself and I was pleasantly surprised how friendly everyone was to me! Welcome Welcome Welcome =D
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. :o) I'm retired as well (going on 7 years now), and just enjoying raising chickens (which I've been doing for about 50 years).
