That's what we've done so far--just kept hens. Then of course we have to get new ones every few years. What we want to do now is grow our own replacements so we'll need a rooster. I currently have 25 hens, and no roosters in my flock, and my hens are stress free and enjoying life without any roosters around to harass and over-breed them. Glad you have healthy happy hens and hope you're getting lots of eggs. Did you start with chicks or pullets? from hatchery? Is this your first flock?
