New Mexico

Poultry swap this Sunday at the Bloomfield, NM Ace Hardware from 12 noon til 3pm. We had the most sellers last month ever. Also goats and rabbits.

Just to let everyone know, I am now offering goat and sheep hoof trimming in Northwest New Mexico- we come to you or you come to us.
For rates contact me at [email protected] or 505-486-5577, leave message & phone number if no answer. Will consider barter/trade.

Hey DAK how did the swap go last Sunday?
Busy, sold some cochins and a few eggs. Medium turn-out. Nice weather.

If you come to town soon I have that GLC cockerel ready to go.

Anyone in Gallup, Farmington, Albuquerque, Roswell, Clovis, Odessa or anywhere in between have french black copper marans or welsummer hatching eggs, chicks or hens for sale? I'm brand new to BYC. This is my first post, so hopefully there will be many more.
So far this is a great informative site.. I've been in the game for 2 months now and am up to 2 laying hens, 17 chicks of varying ages and breeds, 3 ducklings and 2 goslings. 3 of the chicks I hatched myself from ebay. 3 of 7 wasn't too bad for my first hatch ever. I think the humidity was a bit high, but not positive.

Hello Everyone. I am from Albuquerque, (west side) and i am soo glad to see so mny others from NM here. :) and I just started my 1st real attempt a chicken raising. I purchased 2 blue wyandotts, and 2 RIR at a feed store near my family in Belen.(they are about 2 and 1/2 weeks old) The RIRs are the sweetest little babies. They will perch on my hand when ever I put it near them, but the Wyandotts are still a little spooky, they run away, wings flapping and chirping loudly. Any advice on getting them to calm down when I am around, or is it just a breed thing? I am also looking for 2 Ameraucana and 2 Leghorn chicks to add to my brood. So please let me know if anyone has them about the same age as my other babies. :)

Hey Nmmrc. I think that's just how Wyandotts are. just keep talking to them and trying they will come around. I have some 4 weeks olds but i wont be selling any till the grow up and more than likely it will just be males ill be selling.. If you were wanting hatchery stock i know the mercantile in tijeras is getting some EE ameraucana in this month. They wont be the same age though.
