New Mexico

Just got the ‘bestnestbox’ today. Took about 45min to assemble and install in the coop. I took the old egg boxes out, now just hoping they take to the new system...
This is supposed to be a nice way to get cleaner eggs and also it will hold up to 100+ eggs so we can leave town without worrying about collecting eggs every day...
A little pricey at $200 but it should solve a few headaches.

Peter.J that looks really cool! Does it have a roll out place for the eggs or something? How does it hold a hundred eggs? Also it looks like you can collect eggs from the outside, is that right? Very awesome.

I've got 7 pullets I expect will start laying in a month or so. I'm just using traditional open wooden boxes at this point. However one of those units might be really nice. I will have to check that out for sure.

Hi New Mexico folks! I haven't got my chickens, yet, and am in the intense research stage of the process. I live in Santa Fe, and I will be building a coop/run and getting chickens in the next few months. Does anyone here with chickens find that it gets too hot for them? Is the long (but not terribly cold) winter a problem? Many thanks, everyone!
