New Mexico

Once the weather warms up there's a poultry swap in Belen. It's across the road from the Wal-Mart, I believe. I've gone down there a few times with Marans chicks once my flock starts laying again. (BTW, Marans are NOT production layers, so my chicks are not at the early-season-ones)

I may have greeted this group before but if so it's been a while. I lived over 30 years in the Farmington area but am now located in SE Missouri, almost due east of Farmington but a world away in climate. Altitude here is only about 800 feet and humidity way higher. I love the trees and wildlife here, but miss the sunshine and blue, blue skies! NM will always be home in my heart. :D

The Mercantile in Corrales has chicks. They get shipments in during chick season every Thursday. TSC and most feed stores should have some in, too.

I haven't begun incubating yet this year. My first batch of fertile Marans eggs is going to be incubated by someone else, so I'm gathering but not hatching yet.

@KiwiandPeachthePigeons Village Mercantile is currently receiving shipments of chicks (but be careful as someone I know bought a few chicks from them a few days ago and one of the chicks had a deformed beak). Tractor Supply will be receiving shipments next week. People on craigslist are beginning to sell fertilized eggs from their flocks. Also Privett Hatchery is located in the state so you can order a greater variety from them than you can from the feed stores and shipping is cheap and fast. I have my own flock with a Barnevlder/Americana mix rooster if you want some fertilized eggs and don't mind mixed breeds (could hatch them out for you if you don't have the means to incubate them). I'm also going to be receiving a shipment of cream Legbar chicks from Privett Hatchery next week which I will be raising to pullet size and selling off the extras (since the minimum order is 25).

All of my 7 of my chickens got wiped out by coyotes and surprisingly the only known chicken that I raised from a chick was the bantam cross with a major case of scissor beak that survives (I have raised 14 chickens from chicks and they have all been wiped by coyotes nothing else they were to fast for the hawks and we never had a raccoon problem), so I have been trying to get back in it, but this time with bantams. Therefore around April I will be getting a shipment of 15 straight run chicks, or go to Miller's Feed

P.S. I live in Los Ranchos outside of Albuquerque
You have my condolences I recently lost a silver laced polish hen to a coyote and 2 Rhode island reds to health complications (they were pretty old).

Hand me down farms in Los lunas
I haven't had a good experience with Hand Me Down farms. We ordered Americana pullets from them and instead they sent us a hodge podge of different chickens many of which were roosters and most the chickens they sent us were flighty and difficult to handle (unlike the ones we got from tractor supply which were all friendly and inquisitive).
