My lil SLW EE chickie hatched out around 10am, and there's another one hatching out. The only ones due today, I have a couple more due tomorrow
So far, I hae 3 SLW EEs for my project, I'm seeing if I can get some pretty birds with lavender lacing that will lay colorful eggs... the SLW hen lays a very light brown egg, so I'm expecting the future eggs to be a medium green (since blue and brown = green)
DAK... that extremely dark blue/turquoise/not sure on right color term that is posted on the ABC forum.... have you heard from her as to if the pullet laid any more eggs after tht one?

I never saw a follow-up post. The chicks you got from me in Jan or so, and that big Black boy are from her breeding. It was probably just a hyperpigmented first egg and the subsequent ones were lighter.
That's what I figured, but didn't know if maybe she had gotten back to you on the next egg's color
Hmmm, I didn't realize we have her bloodlines.... cool
(I didn't even pay attention to the name, my brain was SO overloaded from reading about the reccessive whites and the other shades of blue thread- reading about genetics while on codeine is a STRANGE combo.)
I don't know for sure if we are going to Farmington on Sunday, my sockets are still killing me- argh. And I had considered going to a barrel race this weekend?!?!? Geez... I am glad I got those teeth out, as they hurt all the time for 9 years, but I don't know that I'd suggest it to anyone else!!! I am not used to taking it easy, or taking much painkillers, I prefer the "suck it up and get to work" train of thought, but GOOD GOLLY!!!! oh, and another nice side effect of the painkillers... they make me SUPER chatty!!! Bleck!!! LOL (can you tell I'm on them NOW?)
Unfortunately, so true... I'm surprised my housecat has made it this long! She will be 2 in July... I try my best to keep her indoors, but sometimes she slips out. Now I'm getting the dog trained to keep her in the house too! LOL That's m, hubby, AND doggy trying to keep kitty in the house! Maybe she will make it to 3...
Mom's cat that got carried off by the hawk, and came back home all infected and fevered, is 6 years old now... she almost didn't make it there, but apparently she is too mean to die
