New Mexico

Hello everybody! I am located near Las Cruces, and I am kind of new to chickens. I have six silkie crosses. Does anyone need two silkie cross roosters? They are black, have the furry silkie feathers, and have the build of a regular rooster. They are gentlemen to the other chickens and people. I really want them to go to a good home (Where they won't be eaten) They are about eight months old, and the largest one Ethel (I thought he was a girl at first

) has a greenish hue to his tail feathers. They are handsome guys, and they need a new home! Message me for more info, thanks!

Hello all. Just moved to Edgewood from Rio Rancho and now that i have the space i would like to get started with the chickens i have always wanted. Looking to get some chicks in the fall so they will be ready to be outside in the spring. This also gives me time to get my perimeter fence up and a good coop built by spring. The breed i am looking at getting is barnevelder. I just love how they look and that ,from what i have read, they are a good all around bird. Does anyone know if there are any breeders in NM or selling any? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi DanaeRose, I don't have an answer to your question, just thought I'd say hi. I live in northern NM and come to Edgewood for my Nigerian goats. We have 2 dogs, 15 chickens and 5 goats. Welcome.

Does anybody know what the rules and regs are for keeping chickens in Corrales? Are they under the same livestock rules as Rio Rancho or ABQ? We're looking to relocate there. Are the rules different for R-1 v. A-1 zoning?

btw

Where are you? I'm in Las Cruces in one of the few places zoned for chickens. Don't need any more chickens but nice to know another BYCer is here.
