New Mexico

Are there any poultry shows coming up in the SE corner of the state?
The only American Poultry Association/ American Bantam Association show in the state of New Mexico is in Farmington, NM the first weekend in November. County/state fairs are mostly hatchery birds

Hey everyone. I have been looking all over and had a question. My 4 oldest chicks ( around 5 weeks old) love to go outside during the day, so much so that they don't want to come in at night. Is it ok if I leave them out at night now? they all have almost all their big girl feathers, and don't seem to be cold. (I also have 2 3-4 week old ones that are still under the heat lamp, so I really can't move it outside.) I posted this in the NM thread because if I tried elsewhere they would ask me about the avg, temp and other stuff that's hard to explain about NM weather. haha

Ive been putting mine out between 4 and 5 weeks. they get used to it really quick, just make them a wind free area to roost in at night is all they need really.

Same here.
Thank you Steen and blaundee!! I figured they would be ok. as long as they had a wind break. My husband just build them a new run today. tomorrow we will finish the coop.

I hate to leave my babies outside but they seem to love it. We live in on the west side of Albuquerque, and it's all dirt. They love rolling and kicking up the dirt, I guess they just like being dirty birdies!!!
