I only have Brahmas. Don't know of anyone down here that breeds any chickens to type. Mostly just mutts in these parts.

Try the place here in ABQ on Isleta. I think its called Isleta Bait and Tackle. The have really healthy chicks year around, have been open for a lot of years, know chickens and are very nice people

I'm further north than you are, up near Cimarron. I have Buckeyes, Plymouth rocks, Orpingtons , australorps, all have done very well. I have 30 chicks in my tub now, welsummers, olive eggers, Wyandottes, and black copper Marans. So excited. My coop is insulated, but not heated. I tried a heat lamp, but found it was not necessary.

I am looking for a pair that have vulture hocks. Any breed is fine, but am looking for splash. All ages okay, just need to be fertile. Please PM me if anyone has anything available. Closest I've found so far are in Wisconsin....that is a bit of a drive from Tularosa!
