Before you make any big trips, phone The Village Mercantile and make sure the chicks you're desiring did actually arrive. I had DH get there first thing in the morning and the Welsummers we craved and desired were not in the delivery. They've placed the listed breeds as orders (and at least 25 of each chicken), but sometimes the hatchery doesn't provide them in the shipment.

Oh I will. My daughter wants some phoenix chickens. Hopefully I can get a few of them for her & some some more for me & maybe some more for me & maybe more.... LOL!

LOL....lots of breeds to chose from..Ive noticed Silkies rarely come up on the lists and lots of people are constantly asking for them, wonder why they don't get them at the feed stores too often?

I don't know why they don't offer silkies either. Although I'm not a silkie owner (and don't necessarily want to be) there are a lot of silkie fans out there...........

I get call for silkies almost everyday..lol..seems like it..I found a lady who sells her silkie eggs so I bought some to put into my incubator and ever since then everyone wants some and I cant keep up..

AWESOME !!! I just picked up 2 serama pullets and 8 eggs for hatching, Ive been looking for seramas FOREVER !!!
Im so excited, I love these little mini chickens..make super pets, very friendly...YES FINALLY !!!

I'm dying for chicks and to try out my new incubator, but we have two vacations coming up soon. Nice thing is that at the end of our second vacation, I'm going to pick up some chicks in southern AZ! I can't wait.

April 10 is such a long way away though..... (sigh)

if you check craigs list In that area of vacation you might find something good, fyi..northern Arizona I found bantam cochin mille fluers awhile back...
