Good Morning everyone!!

I didn't hardly sleep at all last night, I have one pitiful chick in isolation right now and last night I'm guessing she decided she had ENOUGH of being alone and threw a fit all night long. She was so dang loud that I'm upstairs on the other side of the house and I can hear her! Good sign that she's getting stronger though right?

I tried to put her back in with the others in the middle of the night but within the past week they have all grown like weeks and she hasn't gotten any bigger

so she got attacked and pecked quite a bit despite me trying to swat away the other chicks. So now she's back in her little tub but I put my smallest sweetest silkie with her for company. What do I do about getting back with the rest of the chicks? Will they accept her easier when she starts feeling better and isn't so submissive? Silkies picking on ameraucanas LOL I knew thought that would happen, more expected it to be the other way around

Anyone want to give me some advice on crop problems? I've posted for advice but both my threads have died since then.
She's lethargic, droopy wings with a puffed up appearance. I isolated her based on those symptoms suspecting worms or cocci She doesn't have bloody stool but I read it's possible for cocci to be present without bloody stool and I didn't want to take any chances! I gave everyone a doze of wazine and started everyone on a round of Sulmet and a couple of days of vitamins/electrolytes in their water.

2 days into isolation which was 2 days ago I noticed her crop was pretty much bigger than her head and rock hard. I took away her chick starter gave her olive oil and yogurt along with crop massages but her crop still hasn't gone back to what I consider normal. It's more pliable and is passing some through since she is still pooping. So what gives? What do I do now?

Poor little runty girl

The breeder I got her from suggested switching her to Coccid since it's better in her opinion than Sulmet. She also checked with me to make sure she was getting enough water which I think she is even though everyone doesn't seem to like their water medicated and don't seem to drink as much as I would expect them to.
Mrrrrrr.... I hate the newbie mommy feeling. I had enough of it when I had my son and now I feel like the clueless one all over again but with CHICKENS

I know you didn't ask me, but we refrigerate ours 3 or 4 days after processing before we freeze them. Is there a difference in tenderness, etc., between the two methods?

I realy dont find in a young bird that there is any difference in tenderness The key is to not let them get a lot of age on them .I prefure they not be over 12 weeks old befor processing.
