unlucky picks. I got ten ducks wanting them for laying eggs. 2 khakis both turned out to be male. 4 pekin of which only one is a female. and 4 rouen which only one is a female. out of ten ducks only 2 females. SOOOOO SAD. The pekin female is my noisiest as well. it was a bad year for ducks. But on a good note one of the two ladys is already laying. And i just got the acroponics duck pond working, now only if my baby plants could keep up with all that poopy water.Well, it seems $20 is the going rate for a female Pekin. Mine should be laying soon, unless they decide to suck and wait until spring (they were hatched in the spring) to lay. Helen (my bestest Pekin lady) was laying at 5 months. I plan on keeping her (she's also the noisiest).
If you don't mind my asking, why do you have so many males if you're not raising for eats?
Ill see if i can swing the 20 each and let you know right away.
I got a ton of chickens to start my homestead off this year. For my laying flock i had hand picked at the feed store i got 32 chickens and i only ended up with 5 males. I got really lucky with the chickens and not so much with the ducks.
