I live in MN and raised chicken and ducks as a kid. My wife and I live in town with a fair amount of land. I wanted to start keeping chickens a couple years ago but the city did not allow it. Life got busy and I decided to wait. This year I wrote to the city and it is on the agenda to talk about it in March to allow the keeping of chickens. The already discussed it in February and none of the counsel members opposed my request. I am waiting for the approval and look forward to chickens eating some of these bugs in my yard.
Because of websites such as BYC it has made it much easier for the cities to know how it works for suburban chickens.
