What did you do in the garden today?

Today what I did in the garden is look at it. Worked to 14 hour shift last night so once I woke up from a short nap I’m zoned. Will water at the end of the day. But the tomatoes are starting to come along to their new home from the starter pots to the garden bed, cucumbers finally sprouted, and the new gourds are doing well. They’re ready for a trellis or hoop, but they’re gonna have to wait till tomorrow. Luffa plants and potatoes in back yard are seeming quite pleased with the weather
New raised bed in the back. Ran out of room in my garden and I still didn’t have squash so it had to be done.

I watered flowers and picked blueberries today.
I got my garlic dug this week. I decided to plant too late to order so I just picked up some grocery store soft neck. It was planted last Oct. I think it did okay. Some got pretty big.

I noticed my banana tree had a bloom. It's never bloomed this early. Odd!

I've only grown hard necks one time. The scrapes were yummy! Bulbs were small? Could have been me?

It's already getting hot here. Mine had started to lay down. Then 2 days of rain when I had time to dig. I was pleased it didn't rot.

Garlic likes nitrogen. The bulb is actually specialized leaves, so think of fertilizing it as if it were greens.

Repotted herbs today, and threw in some more seeds in the open spots since some of them never sprouted. The new pot is a railing planter, so I have some of my floor and table space back!

Today in the garden I planted my zinnia seeds finally, and planted a young zucchini plant

My spinach is bolting. I'm probably going to pull it soon (here, chickens!) and plant some more green beans where it was.

We are getting some much needed rain! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mother Nature!
