What did you do in the garden today?

I have a massive lavender in pot plenty not my favored herb.
I read about different species of lavender, and which does well here in our weather type. English, the one we get the essential oil from, and for culinary and aromatic uses, is the one. I found some at our local store, plus another variety. I grow and harvest the buds to flavor kombucha. One of my favorite flavors.

I do but I can't get it to live thru the winter here. :hit Technically it should, & sometimes it will live one winter just to die the next. I tried to start some from seeds this year but the seeds were very old.
Mine almost died this past winter, so I was able to trim off the dead branches and salvage some of it, but now it looks like a bonsai plant. Bought 3 English lavender, which is supposed to be more durable. So sad you cannot get them to survive.

I have tried every single type of lavender ever grown. It hates me. :lau Next time I go to the garden store I'll pick up another tho. I always do, then I swear off it, then I try again.

It's only 11 & I have gotten so much done. I love my new back electronics, my back is hanging in there like a trooper!

I cleaned out & bleached the garden shed & everything it in (stupid mice). I got out the critter waterer. Cleaned the coop. Cleaned up the deck & the yard, put all sorts of stuff away. Cleaned the potting table. Planted some sunflower seeds that I got on clearance yesterday. Got some more cardboard down in the garden, will spread chips on that after brunch (just like @Wee Farmer Sarah, I got carried away).
I am getting so worn out just reading about your day. Whew! I wonder if this would help my friends who have chronic back pain?

I have a lavender plant in my garden that was left by the previous owners of my home. It was pretty small and scraggly at first but has grown quite a bit in the last two years. I don't know what variety it is but it survived cold weather that killed my rosemary.

My daikon bucket experiment ended up being a bust. I noticed today that the plants are starting to bolt. I'll try it again as a fall crop and plant seeds around September or so.

I had a lactating one tangled up in the net fence Thursday. I felt bad because I think she thought I was going to help her. I have been putting traps out for 2 years trying to catch her. She was too smart and never in a place I had a clear shot...
Seen a little running around today 2x today, probably looking for mom. I would 'send' it to mom if I catch it

That would be a good lavender. Weather killed my rosemary too, so bought a small one to start over.
My bok choy and choy sum is a bust. I think that spell of hot weather, or planting too late is making them all bolt before they get any size to them. Will try again in July for a fall crop.

I have a spinal cord stimulator implanted, it's 2 electrical leads in my epidural space & a battery pack just below my waist. It sends out electrical impulses that confuse/interrupt the pain signals to the brain. It's been a life saver. I also have hardware from previous surgeries. You can see some of it in this pic.
