What did you do in the garden today?

The same thing happened to me last year. All my tomato plants except one yellow pear were killed. Some of them were rare types I was trying. I had to buy some common tomato plants from TSC and Lowes. Hope yours' will survive.
Everything but the peppers looked fine, hope they are not stunted now. Peppers were a little wilted in the morning but perked up by the end of the day.

I had the same thing happen yesterday morning! They forecasted the low to be 41°, and when I got up and looked at the thermometer, it said 36° and there was frost on the top of my truck. So, I sprinted around watering all my plants. I didn't see any frost on any plants, but was still terrified I was going to lose everything! Everything survived, thank goodness! I don't know what I would have done if my tomato and pepper plants had been killed... I pray your plants survive!
I know the panic mode. Normally I don't plant until memorial day due to my garden being in the bottom of a kettle, 10 degree difference up by the house to down by the garden. This year its been so warm and the soil temp was right I planted 2 weeks early. Keeping my fingers crossed we stay mild.

I was told by wise old aunt not to plant till Good Friday (my zone is 8a/b).
Of course I started some early in pots. I was running out covering too bc of frosts!
She is right for in ground. She was more reliable than the forecasters

About to check the garden!

Took 22 chickens and chicks to the auction, but didn’t stay bc other things to take care of.

Sold the 3 male goat kids yesterday. Still have two other kids here - the one girl and her now neutered male friend. But at least spouse has his workshop back as the girl and neutered boy were in there to sleep.

I’m glad bc we had too many chickens - not planned to have so many as some were replacements from a mostly dead shipment last fall. The 4 male leghorns (12 weeks old) were getting obnoxious to the girls too, so they had to go. We have plenty of males left from the 8week old batch, but removed 5 obvious males from that group too.

I had to replant a few things bc nothing sprouted in a few areas…was I impatient or were the seeds going to sprout? Easier to remove sprouts than to have none!

I've been pregerminating my bean seeds, and have gradually planted them out. It's too cool yet to direct seed. Did the majority of them yesterday, and more popped by this morning, so got those out too. Harvested all the oregano this morning, and having DH dig out the huge patch of them so I can put something else there.
Of course, there's always weeds to kill.
I bought some new lavender plants to put in. My really old ones took a hard beating this winter. I bought l. augustifolia and another on called Blue Spear. Anyone else here love lavender?
Yes lavender is a favorite here. Have to buy Spanish as nothing else will live through the summers here. I had one that was about five years old when it died off.

Not here, I've never had it reseed.
Which variety are you planting? English lavender is more cold hardy. The French lavender I had in containers did well as long as I brought onto my front porch to overwinter. Those plants were drowned from all the rain last summer but one of them is actually coming back to life. The lavender I planted with the oregano and grapevines on the slope are doing well. One of them is getting ready to bloom. I got sidetracked earlier and didn’t make it over to the rock garden. I put coir and straw around my fingerling potatoes. Then I went to check on the green bean plants and summer squash. They’re doing very well. Did a little weeding in there. Did some work clearing the path then worked on clearing around the grapevines. Needless to say, breakfast is now Brunch.

I don’t even know which variety I tried.
Will try Spanish although I may be too wet? We will see.
I would love it growing along clothes line!

Lavender doesn't overwinter here either. BUT, guess what I found growing in the middle of my hay field this week?!?!It's almost 18 inches high and 24 wide. It doesn't have a strong smell. At first I thought it was rogue Russian sage, but the leaves are all wrong, and the flower timing is wrong.
But the flowers look like lavender.
I'll show you when I go to yank it out.
Maybe you can tell me what it is, if it isn't.
