I read about different species of lavender, and which does well here in our weather type. English, the one we get the essential oil from, and for culinary and aromatic uses, is the one. I found some at our local store, plus another variety. I grow and harvest the buds to flavor kombucha. One of my favorite flavors.I have a massive lavender in pot plenty not my favored herb.

Technically it should, & sometimes it will live one winter just to die the next. I tried to start some from seeds this year but the seeds were very old.
Next time I go to the garden store I'll pick up another tho. I always do, then I swear off it, then I try again.
