Hmmm, okay so then that seems normal, Well let us know what happens after doing the water treatment for bit, Oh duh! That's the other thing you could try!! Soak her bottom in some warm water and massage it a bit and see if that helps.

My daughter-in-law had a hen with a large bottom that was soft. It didn't bother the hen but as the days went by, it started shrinking and eventually went away. (until a neighbors dog got in her pen and killed over 30 hens).
