New on the block...

Hi everyone, thanks for all the warming and the info provided, I took my gal to the vets and was gives some antibiotics. She has just finished them and is now back with the flock. The drake missed her and won’t leave her side...lol. On an upside her wounds are healing really well and the single egg from her nest was placed under a moody broody chicken. My husband and I checked the egg last night and it’s developing really well... I tried moving the chicken and her nest last night to a more safe area, but when I checked this morning, she had moved the eggs (I put others under her) back to where she originally nested.

is there a way I can move her and keep her in the new spot without boxing her in a cage (I’ve read that people do that so the chicken gets used to the new spot)?

any help would be appreciated :-) thanks:-)

@Cityfarmboy - Welcome to BYC! :welcome

You couldn't have picked a better place to join and learn more about flock care, health, behavior, and general tips. Best of luck finding information to help your flock, and help your Muscovy female get better. If you can, I highly suggest getting some sort of game/trail camera to monitor your flock and see what may have gotten to your girl on her eggs.

So glad to hear she is recovering well!
