New owner has some questions

I had never had a goose die on me before and was just shocked at losing two one year after another. So I was bound to find out what happened. So did research and found that the lack of calcium could be the problem. So I gave more calcium to them and this year did not lose a female.
So have shared my findings with others on here....
There were people losing their females either during or right after laying season. So I made sure to tell them to give extra calcium to them during breeding and egg laying season.

How do you add geese to a flock? What's the best way- with an adult pair, older goslings?
Do you have an area where you can fence the new ones so the others can come and visit with them to get use to the new kids on the block. I pen up all the new ones in a big dog kennel and the others come over and talk to them and get use to them. Then after about a week I put them out so they can get use to each other.
Or you can make a tempory fence for the new ones to get to know the flock. Then start introducing them supervised outings.

Sounds good.

It's been a week and the Seb pair have settled in, and actually put themselves to bed last night. They stopped running away.

they are finally feeling at home. Makes you feel good doesn't it?

I'm wondering if something's wrong. The first night we had them home, we put them in the coop and I thought she was shivering a bit, but I didn't see it again. Since then, we've had them 10 days, the male is all wide eyed and inquisitive and eats the pellets and treats. The female seems to spend more time sleeping, drinks, went in the pool with the gander, eats very little, eyes are not wide open, and has light green watery poo. They are 3 years old. I don't think theyve ever been wormed and I doubt they got an illness from other geese.

I will worm her. Does it sound like she's injured? Maybe she has an eye infection? Her eyes are never wide open. No discharge. I guess lethargic. I'm away from home so tomorrow hubby will have to do a hands on exam. Maybe we'll know more. :(:(
