I think that peachicks that are raised together will be buddies for life. That does not mean that one will not be dominate over the other one, it just means that they will know each other and get along. The problems you hear about are generally when introducing a strange bird into the flock and during the breeding season.
Last year I had multiple cocks in the breeding pens and there was very little contention, the younger, lesser cocks knew their place and I had no fighting. Being that there is always an exception to the rule I did have to turn out one cock but he was a nut job fighting with everyone, hens included, but once he was gone there were no more problems.

Was now wondering if anyone had any suggestions - do I try to get another chick for company to raise together ? I feel bad for him being alone . But he's becoming VERY socialized and looks for us wherever he is . Always flies to my husbands shoulder whenever he's around him and just coddles around his neck . I keep him indoors - at least for this whole winter as he is alone and its mighty cold in NY .. Is it ok to get chick thats a bit older - he's about 6-7 weeks old and I can get try to get a 3- 4 month old as that s all thats available . He was a late hatcher .. Now most importantly - another male, or female ?? Thanks everyone for all your feedback !!
