New peacock Mom!! Need guidance:)

So i just raised ducks and chicks in the spring, I’m familiar with those now

I’m now tackling peacocks and I’m so excited..I’m getting 2. Will 2 boys or 2 girls get along well? I’m hoping for a male and female but the chances are probably slim. Is it best to have 1 male and 1 female?
Will I be able to introduce them to my existing flock of ducks and chickens or will they need to be separated? Obviously I wouldn’t add them until they were plenty old enough. I would love for everyone to get along. There will be about a 6 month age difference. Anything Else I need to know about peacocks?! Can’t wait to watch them grow

Congratulations. I'll assume you already know that peacocks make the loudest, most god awful noise? My neighbor tells me that if he coughs at night it sets off the peacock alarm, lol. Luckily he likes them.

My peacock is madly in love with my turkey hens. They don't share his interest, but he sure does try.

Him and the rest of the birds just ignore each other.

They need a really high perch. My boy's train is about five foot long this year. He's about three foot tall. So, if you plan to have your peafowl in a pen, that is something to seriously take into consideration. They take up a LOT of room vertically.

Hens take up less room, but I prefer peacocks. Not because of color either. Maybe I just never had luck with them, but the hens I had were dreadful.

A raccoon got my two hens, and while I was sorry for it, my real response was "Thank goodness they didn't get Mr. Pea."

Mr. Pea didn't really care anyways. Like I said, he loves the turkey hens. Weird bird. But the hens were always so skittish and antisocial. Every time there were treats they'd act like I was trying to poison them.

They'd pop like baby quail every time I needed to go into the peafowl area. I was always afraid they were going to break their necks.

Not Mr. Pea tho. He fans and parades and demands treats. He's such a social bird.

Like I said tho, maybe I've just had bad luck with hens.

Lol the noise is beautiful but Loud!! I once was a half mile away from a farm with some and I thought it was a woman screaming until we got closer lol

beautiful isn't a word many people would use. But, ok... I love his noise.

for sure.. but so powerful which is beautiful! I felt like I was in a forest with them. but I can imagine living with them and eventually wanting ear plugs lol

My pair of peafowl live in the same building as all my chickens and guineas. They all free range thru the day. I haven't found the noise to be as bad as I expected. They do call once in a while, usually when they get separated or when the guineas are fighting and they think I should do something about it. Or when they need me for some reason. But the guineas and roosters are a lot louder than the peas.
My peacock seems to be the protector of the entire flock. He won't go in at night unless all the other poultry are inside. And I've watched him make the rounds around the buildings to make sure they are all in.
I did worry about the noise before I got them. But since we live in the country it's all just more 'country music'!

Thanks for the responses! I have heard about their noise and luckily I live in the country so my neighbors are just birds in the trees! So many people have told me not to get them cuz they make this awful noise..I stopped telling people cuz I was so sick of hearing that

Two boys might be okay together. I think it depends on the bird.

I have another question.. how can you tell the sex of babies? I heard about a blood test and would like more info if you guys have any info on that I really would like a male and female pair. I have access to more babies.
