fuzzi's Chicken Journal

I wonder if she has an internal laying problem. Or inflammation of her ovaduct.
I can't find a similar poop photo here, have searched, but that possibility has occurred to me. Chickens can be so resilient, but also so fragile.

I'm no expert, but you are giving her great supportive care. She's on Corid for day two, correct?

I think you could still try some electrolytes--just no B vitamins recommended with Corid, right? Or is sugar contraindicated, too?

Is she besties with anyone she could have as a safe roommate?

I wish I had more ideas... Short of an antibiotic (and I wouldn't know which kind to try--I'm assuming this is either reproductive or a GI related infection, but that's still just a total guess!!!) I wouldn't know what else to try.

Hang in there, Esther. ❤️
Corid day 2.

The fact that she can't/won't move, step, is very worrisome. She's not moved from where I placed her, at the entrance of the crate.

9pm
Esther drank, and ate a little mash, and then walked around a little, maybe 10 steps.

And fussed at me when I picked her up!

Clean crate, fresh water, a little mash.

A lady I know who's raised chickens suggested oil of oregano, but I don't have any. However, my oregano plant outside is still green. She said to offer a couple leaves to Esther.

Sounds like you are doing what you can.

I too wonder if she's having some issues coming back into lay after molt.
In addition to what you are doing, you may want to give her Extra Calcium to see if she expels an egg or lash material. I just use Walmart brand Calcium Citrate+D3, give 1 tablet daily for 2-3days.

I hope sweet Esther gets better soon!
