New Peafowl owner with ?s (Updated Pics on Growth Changes)

I am hoping they are a pair. Watching them Skyflower seems to be more femine and tenderly grooms Phoenix. When I first got them she would beak feed him even though she is younger than him.
I have a feeling that Phoenix is a boy from watching him. Hopefully I am right.

It is sad when bonded critters loose their mate. Glad to hear Alto was able to recover and find new girls.

Actually from your most recent photos, it looks like Skyflower may be a boy (lots of barring on those wings). And I think he is split to white or pied, because the only white on him is in his flight feathers. In one of those pics I think I spy white flights on Phoenix as well, which would mean they are both split. They are both beautiful!

That would be my luck them both turning out to be boys.
I will keep the hope up though that one is a girl as they are so young....I am a newbie at Peas so I won't know the difference until one lays an egg or they both grow trains.

Well I got 2 years of wishful hoping

On the bright side it means I need to get some girls down the road. (more critter math)

Right now I am working on fencing if the weather will just cooperate. Had a bad storm last night that knocked the power out.

Skyflower & Phoenix did not get to play yesterday evening cus of the bad weather. They really enjoy their play pen so I have been putting them in it for a couple of hours when I get home from work. They have so much fun and are so stinking cute to watch. Got my chair setup next to them. Like all kids they hate being put back in their main pen to go to bed.

Monday, Phoenix was so full of energy he was hopping, flapping and flying around in the play pen trying to get Skyflower to play with him. Skyflower was more interested in the grass on the outside of the pen. Phoenix was displaying and shaking his tail feathers up a storm. He is definitely a real character. Skyflower has a more reserved personnality, but not to be outdone he (guess I mind as well start calling him a he) started displaying his plumage right back.

Phoenix's eyes are healing up good.

Sorry I have not posted updates.
Phoenix is slowly getting better but has been looking pretty rough. Poor guys eye swelled up really bad and has started draining, finally.
Both are getting antibiotics in their water as the eye antibiotic was not doing it by itself.

Phoenix has gotten taller and looks more leggy now. Despite the issues he is having he is still growing and being a character.

Skyflower has some green irredescent feathers coming in and is also doing well. Skyflower has been extra protective of Phoenix lately. I think he knows his buddy needs the support.

I will get pics this weekend of them both. Have to warn you though that poor Phoenix's eyes look aweful.

Have you considered giving them a little tylan 200? Sometimes respiratory/sinus infections can swell to look like it's affecting their eyes, but it's actually their sinus passages.

Looking forward to pics!

I am using durr.. can't remember how to spell it. When I get home I'll get the bottle so I can spell it. It is used for respitory issues and I had some on hand.
Since using it Phoenix has been improving.

Gonna get them some yogurt on the way home for probiotics as antibiotics are ruff on tummies.
