Friday, June 5th, Rooster Man and I became the proud "parents" of a new peachick. Now, I have a million and a half questions about them and I would love to hear everyone's advice, tips, and tricks.

The little thing doesn't have a name yet (I'm hoping for a male) but it sure is sweet. Rooster Man will sit and chirp at it and it chirps back, it's quite possibly the cutest thing in the world.

First question, when do they get their crests? Peafowl seem to grow at a much faster rate than chickens.

Congrats, I have some 2 week olds and I can just make out the start of their little bitty crests.

Two weeks is -much- faster than I thought.

And peababy is just so CUTE. I have a feeling that I will now have a new obsession.

And, of course, here are peababy's pictures. S/he is an India Blue - and I'm pretty sure s/he is a male if we judge by color, s/he is nearly yellow underneath. But, we all know how reliable feather sexing is!

Thursday June 4th I got a peachick so right now I am in a similar boat haha. They are fun to watch grow up! I had a hunch that mine is a male so I tried the washer on a string trick to sex it and it said male so perhaps you might want to give it a go. :)

I like taking the peachick outside and finding bugs for him to eat.

@MinxFox , our little baby was born on Thursday! We've never had one before and I'm already developing a list of new ones I want!

Our little guy, I'm pretty sure it's a boy, is really flighty - anytime I try to hold him, he takes off. So, taking him outside is probably a bad idea right now. LOL
