I've always wanted to see a Betta make a bubble nest, but I haven't yet. One day I go and look at him and everything is good, then the next day there is a bubble nest! LOL Sorry about your orange Betta.

Blue, my sister's beta, was just burping bubbles eveywhere.

Blue Boy looks really healthy and well breed.

The two betas that we bought had... Slight ripping fins tips when we got them... They were the sameish color. We did take care of them but the already damaged fins were not repairable. We did stop the ripping from getting worse though. I think that this happens when the water is to low?

I'm pretty sure "fin rot" is a sort of sickness, but "torn fin" is from sharp fake plants in the tank. Basically the fins get ripped on the sharp edges of something. That's why I'm super careful on what plants I put in my tanks. I don't have live plants....yet.

I've never had a female Betta. I guess that's because all my Bettas are from pet stores and they only sell males. I don't have a Betta breeder near me.

My petsmart sells both.

I've never watched mine build one either. I have walked into the room as he was making one, and I saw him blow a bubble, but as soon as he saw me, he stopped. He usually builds the nest very early in the morning, while I'm still asleep, so I just wake up to a huge bubble nest already there.

I got my fish from a different pet shop....that's nice that yours sells both!
