New Pet Coming Home Today! (Betta Fish Thread!)

Pics
We used to have a beta named Pebbles, he died at age 3, now we have Jewels, she is about 1, who knows how old they were in the store. I like my goldfish though. Cream and Orange, got them at a fair, were kept in a 3 gallon for 6 months, then upgraded to a 10 gallon, now about 9 years later, finally in a 29 gallon.

Both of my bettas are rescues. Both had finrot, were emaciated, and were very stressed when I got them. I got Tsunami, the blue criwntail girl first. Her finrot was almost touching her body, but with proper care, it was fully healed within weeks. She now lives in a heated, cycled, aerated 20 gallon tank with 4 zebra danios (I will be getting more)and is as happy and sociable as can be😊. Before and after pics:

Challenger is more recent. He had horrible finrot, ammonia burning, and was emaciated and pale when I got him. 3 weeks later he has improved dramatically. He has the appetite of a lion, and builds bubble nests all the time to show how happy he is. His current home is in a cycled, filtered 5 gallon bucket until I can find him a proper aquarium. Pics when I got him vs now:

Comet goldfish like these can get massive and need 50+ gallons each to thrive.

Those are cute fish! :love I've never had Gold Fish. Only 3 Bettas.

I vowed never to pay money for a betta again unless I know it was bred and raised humanely. I rescued both of these from petsmart, they gave them to me for free.

That's awesome!
I don't have any betta breeders near me so I had to buy from my local pet shop....but at least I rescued Rainbow, Swimmer, and Blue Boy from the small cups!
