Awww, how sweet!!! Rats have such personality!!! My son had one that rode around on his shoulder and was very much a part of this family. I miss him....enjoy!!!!

Rats are so much fun. I fostered a mom and 11 babies for a local shelter. She came in with newborn pinkies. I got them all raised and just was separating the babies, and mom had another 13 pups! They get pregnant fast apparently. Anyway, got all 25 rats good homes so it worked out fine.

6 is a much better sized litter! Congrats!

I will be finding most of them homes. May keep one or two girls as mom'a cage mates. I'm not sure who the dad is. when I can look at them a bit closer and check out their whiskers, I'll know if Tibbles is the dad. Curly whiskers=rex coat= Tibbles is the father. If they don't have curly whiskers, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to tell who the father is.

Yes they do get pregnant fast. They have to be seperated from their male offspring by 51/2 weeks or you can just about garauntee mom, or female siblings will be pregnant!

Congrats! I had a rat who was purchased as a buddy come to me pregnant, she was very young and gave birth to a litter of nine, she was barely out of babyhood herself! Boy was she exhausted afterward and craving human affection afterward! My housemate now has three of the girls from the litter, best surprise ever! And since those babies were handled from day 1 (Mama was cool with it, she liked the quick breaks that got longer as they got older), they are the best human companions ever!

Hopefully you can find all the youngin's homes! They look great! All healthy and pink with their little milk bands! Please do update with pictures, they grow up so fast, everyday is a new change with baby rats!

The little guys are doing great. They are growing SO fast! Tibbles is the father as 2 of the babies are rex. I believe they will all be blacks or some type of dark color.
