NEW PICS! GENDER of Rosie? BR/ EE cross. 7wks old now

OP: yes...I was basing it on feathering. Out of all the chicks I've had, the feather method has failed me only once...in a pair of cuckoo Marans. I realize I'm no expert (yet), but it's what's worked for me. You should be able to tell by comb in the very near future.

I'd say Rosie is more fiesty than Soupy, but then again, I'm more fiesty than my husband, so that doesn't mean anything!

Are you really chickens? If not, then it is a whole different ball game

I think you have one boy and one girl. I think the more feathered one actually looks more boyish to me. I found that the feather sexing wasn't very accurate with my chicks last fall.

OK, so here are some updated photos of Rosie & Soupy. Any guesses as to their genders now at 4 weeks old?

3/13/10:
Rosie has the LONG tail feathers like her mother & Soupy has a shortish butt:

Rosie is nearer the camera and Soupy is in the background:

Sorry to say but they both look like cockerals to me. I know they are crosses but with pea combs that wide and raised I say 2 cockerals, sorry again...
