Kaydar grunted in surprise as he was thrown of balance, his wings crimping under him as he hit the ground. He blinked for a moment at the young Dragon that had struck him. He hooked his back feet under the younger ones wings, flipping him off of himself. He rolled to his feet, snarling and rating his frills threayemingly. Not aware that he had placed himself between the Elf Maid and the smaller Dragon.

Sterling hissed his nostrils flared. "What are you doing?!" He snarled his eyes in slits, ready to fight if needed.

Florence watched quietly she gripped the daggers at her side not sure what to do.

Kaydar snorted, delicately circling the much younger dragon. Never stopping as he spoke, his voice harsh and rasping from lack of use."What am I doing?! Did you cracked your skull when you hatched?! You are defending an Elf, Youngling!"

"I am defending a mongrel a mix of an elf amd a Wildling and my sister," he spat glancing at Florence to make sure she was alright.

"Wildling...?" Kaydar spun so quickly he was a blur, wrapping his arms about the Maid and pushing his nostrils into her pale hair, sniffing deeply. He leapt away before the young Dragon could react to what he realized a tad too late could be seen as a threatening move. "You call her sister and yet say she is Elf and Wildling, she is not blood I take it. But she does smell of Dragon blood, explain Youngling."

"My mother took her in when her birth mother passed away," Sterling replied simply.

Florence was getting anxious around the large dragon and it didn't help when he sniffed her.

Kaydar looked at the Maid for a long while before talking, sizing her up. "Your eyes are the wrong hue, Lass, but he doesn't lie. You are Wildling at least in part. I apologize, being half of your blood belonging to my kinfolk I think you would understand my attacking a suspected Elf." He nodded deeply to the maid, lowering the stubs that were all that remained of his ears. It was the ultimate show of respect from a Dragon. He shot past her to the young Dragon, flipping him onto his back in a heartbeat and pinning him with one hand as he snarled in his ear. "Why were you not with your charge when I came upon her?"

"We where playing," Sterling said struggling under the larger dragon.

Gar tried to motion her to silence but she ignored him. Once the mothering side of Tollia kicked in there was no suppressing it. Gar thought she could get too intrusive at times but she shrugged it off. "Used to it? Why would someone be used to nearly being trampled? Do you work with unruly horses or...?"

"I have two older brothers" Rosemary explained "I guess I learned from them a bit" She laughed lightly

Kaydar did not loosen his grip, but he did not press down either. He just held the younger Dragon in place. "Playing...?" He thought back to a foggy time in his distant past when he had been a Youngling himself. Had he played? Perhaps. He could not truly remember. He closed his eyes, losing himself in the past.

Sterling struggled underneath him. Florence walked over to them quietly.
