New Possum....on my Patio...

we have major chipmunk problems. They are fighting and chattering in the walls as I speek.lol.

I think chipmunks are cute but not when they are in the house.

The Possum is cute but never get to close to one.

I was chased by skunk once. It was funny but I did not want to get sprayed lol.

Our German Shepherd tangled with a possum once and got cut up pretty badly. Those little teeth can really slash. I'd be concerned about rabies, too. My neighbor across the street keeps cat food on her porch, and frankly I really wish she wouldn't -- attracts rats, possums, coons, feral cats, skunks, foxes . . . everything that endangers my chickens and dogs with their predation and diseases.

I am wondering what has happened to "Fred"!! We haven't seen him or had a raid on the cat food in several days.....also have not seen any familiar lumps of roadkill nearby...so I can't imagine where he went!!

I had a possum problem to but my hubby cured it with a shovel (now broken). That darn thing would eat 1/2 a gallon of chicken feed if in got into the coop, and ALL THE EGGS!
I said we should drive it down the road and drop it off, he said how do you think this one got here. He has a point, I didnt like the idea of killing it but, I dont want to give someone else my problem and I was afraid it would hurt my dogs.

The dogs cornered it one day in a nesting box, it was trying to bite them, they were trying to bite it and the worse part was I had told my 4 year old son to go shut the coop door but, he left his gloves at school, so I just went and did it.
I'm glad, I did because I would'nt want my son to walk in on a dog and possum fight like I did. I came back yelling for my husband.
Then he went and cured the problem.

that is probably how mine ended up across all the roads and highwyas and into neighborhood city here!!​
