New problems arose, so firs post updated. ( need some help asap)

I have never seen this but I would cull the chicks.

Perhaps your temps were not high enough and the humidity was definitely to high.

I don't believe I've sent you the article from Practical Poultry magazine I've been e-mailing to newbies. PM me your e-mail address and I send it to you.

What did you use to monitor your temps and humidity? Perhaps the reading of the temp was not accurate. Many of the instructions do not give a humidity range which is a terrible disservice to the buyer. My Gen 1588 did not. The article was a big help in that department.

Many things can affect a hatch. In this case they look premature. Where did you get your eggs? Did you interfere in helping them? The health of an egg, the shell thickness or thiness. The age of the hen. The position of the chick in the shell.

I just completed a hatch that started early and lasted four days. Today being day 21.

I would not try to save these chicks. The amount of work you'd have invested and they would be no good to breed and probably not productive.

Sorry

It is day 25 now for these chicks, and the temps ranged from 99.5, to 101.
I had three different thermometers in there, and I tested them in room temperature in my house first to check for accuracy.
And I am not really using these chicks for breeding, they are only going to be used for eggs, so I am just going to let it set and see how it does.

That's pretty much what I would do--watch and wait. I'm not experienced enough to know whether it is absorbed or not, so I won't bother to give an opinion on that.

Where was the location of your incubator? Even though the temp may read one thing the temp could fluctuate enough for you to be misreading it. The placement of the incubator is very important. This was a problem when I began to hatch. I did not know this which is what I learned from the article I offer.

Again the humidity was way to high. There are varying OP's on this so I went with what the article said and things have been fine.

For this to be day 25 clearly something was wrong and it's best to try to find out what it was.

Give 'em a chance - day 25 means your temp was too low. Humidity should be 60 - 70% for the hatch so that is OK. It needs to be much lower during the incubation - but its too late for that.

The end of the shell popping off is what the chick normally does when they unzip. Looks like this one didn't get through the membrane though. Just leave them be. They will figure this out by themselves.

If you need to help - wait a while. That membrane is the lung. If the head is not up & cheeping you don't want to mess with the membrane.

If the head is up & cheeping then they are breathing on their own. The membrane can still cause them to bleed severely so wait for it to turn off. It can take over a day so be patient.

Good luck.

The humidity was only 35-40% during the incubation, when I went onto lockdown is when I brought it up
And the chick is doing much better now. It was laying down for about 5 hours only breather and giving the occasional twitch, but early this morning it left its little bed, and is starting to walk, and explore the incubator.
Oh and I am not using this incubator again, I got a fancy new forced air one for a good deal.
