Congras in your new purchase .
Post pictures when you get those beauties.
On the F1
One of his sisters are laying from my molted sumatra game cross he is also dark meat .
The other hens are under my large oriental
Hope their eggs get fertilize since the oriental is really big and when he cover them he step on the ground he is too big to mount them right on top.
Lol

How long has it taken to get to this point in your project Gallo?
Also any suggestions on what to do to bring more black into the faces of my yoko over Sumatra project? I was going to put the cockrel over the Sumatra hen then the darkest one over the puller I have kept from this original breeding... I want to end up with a blue laced, dark faced, yellow sole. I want them game as well... But I'm hesitant on bringing my AG into the mix....

It is hard to carry the dark gene over to birds that have yellow legs. It is something in their genes. I read up on the genetics of the dark skin gene and it is carried over best with birds with dark or black legs. You might get the dark gene carried over from a dark skin to yellow leg bird to a hen but very seldom will the cock bird from the cross come out with the dark skin gene. In other words your hens from the yoko Sumatra cross might get the dark skin gene but your cock birds from this crossing most likely will not. I did a cross with a Black Showgirl to a Dark Cornish also. The Pullets came out with the dark skin gene and the cockerels did not. They had regular skin color because of the gene carried from the yellow legs.

Silkie sumatra naked neck is from the first fusion Mark did some will come just right for next fusion.
He did well pairing a black sumatra with a blue silkie . Result were expected to be black , blue and splash he only got blacks.
Good for me .
He lives and hr away and I was lucky to get these beauties just at the right time when I lost some of my Sumatras shamos crosses hens.
Yokos project:
Feather color and leg color has I lot to do with faces pigmentation.
Is a different thing when you have dark skinned birds.
If your birds are yellow legs or lighter I found it impossible to add pigment to the face.
Pm some pictures so I can help you better
Ill give you my new # by pm

Good deal! I was planning on getting some pics today but never got around to it...the cockrel has a dark face but the pullet doesn't. I have a silkie but she is a Buff and I don't want to have small fowl....
