the fenced in area is probably close to 1 acre. the whole farm place is 3-4. He's been doing really well at staying near. But I still haven't left the gate to the yard open all night.

Area small enough dog will want to explore beyond the one acre paddock and four acre property boundary. still good size for protecting chickens.
