We live overseas so sometimes it's a challenge to find the best or right supplies. In the past I've owned chickens, ducks and geese. I find quail completely adorable. They're also perfect in our small town, apartment setting. We have an exceptionally large, cement/rebar (very sturdy) balcony. I bought brown jumbo, because that's what's available here. (I probably would have chosen brown jumbo anyway.) I have a large container garden on my balcony, and converted the greenhouse I built into a quail house. I don't use it as a greenhouse anyway. It was really meant as a place to keep the wild birds, who can easily eat all my garden greens up in a day, out. Now it's being used keep quail in. I've been lurking for a week or so, now beginning to ask some questions.
First, what is THE most complete and authoritative book on backyard quail? I have no interest in a CAFO type operation....more of a free range style, as much as possible with an aviary style set-up
