So there is my big boy and his new girls

Are runners usually as big as he is? The gals surrounding him are Buff. Buff cross, Cayuga, Cayuga Cross, and Magpie crosses.

Huh... He sure is... Oddly shaped. o_o;

Even my McMurray hatchery runner is thinner than him...?

I like him though, I should have kept my runner drake!

BUT, I have plenty now, since I'm growing them out to see who is the best to keep.

Comapare his bodyshape to my near show quality drake, Apollo.

Note the long slender neck, and the lack of paunch.

This next picture shows my two hatchery f/w runners, and my holderread black runners. Bad picture I know

Note that the girls in front have slenderer necks, they are about the same age as the hatchery ones.

So yeah, your guy is a bit large for a runner, but darn if he isn't beautiful just the same.

i cant wait till he finally understands that he is supposed to be friendly with the girls.

The only other thing that she had on the property were crested pekins. Note sure if there were regular ones though. i like him all the same . I also appriciate that he knows to get out of the way of the riding lawn mower - where as with the rest of the flock you have to have a stick to push them out of the way!
